But one Washington, DC based volunteer group wants to make sure their audience leaves knowing more than just the names of Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman. I attended the all female-led Civil War reenactment to learn more about contributions from women history has forgotten.

Collaborating in a team of five Georgetown journalism students, I helped to create a visual storytelling blog that focuses on sculpture and statues in the Washington, D.C. area. For this blog post, I had the opportunity to sit down and conduct a LIVE interview with a neon light sculptor for Statuesque D.C.'s Facebook page. Craig Kraft is the creative genius behind many neon light sculptures in the DMV area, including Vivace which is located at the Watha T. Daniel Library in the Shaw neighborhood.

Michael Bunn has worked with the Downtown D.C. Business Improvement District for over 10 years as a hospitality, safety and maintenance (SAM) ambassador. The BID is a non-profit designed to maintain the commercial district in D.C.’s downtown area. This photo gallery documents Bunn's day-to-day work experiences, but also incorporates the lovely hobbies and skills that make him an exemplary employee. Michael Bunn exudes urban hospitality.
